Chihayafuru

Chihaya’s dream is to see her model older sister become Japan’s best—until a quiet transfer student, Arata, tells her that a dream is something she must pursue for herself. Arata plays karuta, a competitive form of the traditional Japanese card game Hyakunin Isshu, with a skill Chihaya has never seen before. When Chihaya takes Arata’s place in a game, she discovers her own passion for karuta. She sets her sights on becoming the world’s number one player: the Queen of Karuta.
