Choujikuu Yousai Macross the First

After a mysterious spaceship crashes on Earth, humanity sets aside its divisions and transforms the vessel into the SDF-1 Macross. When a Zentradi fleet arrives, the Macross fires on the approaching ships, igniting an intergalactic war. Its attempt to flee instead sends the ship, along with the city aboard it, to the far reaches of space. Caught up in the crisis are Hikaru Ichijou, an energetic aerobatic pilot, aspiring idol Minmay Lynn, and Misa Hayase, an officer on the Macross’s bridge. Together, they begin the long journey back to Earth, facing the hardships and brutality of war along the way.
