In a future where people draw electricity from devices called coils, Kyoma Mabuchi makes a living recovering illegal ones. Nikola Tesla’s dream of a world powered by electricity has made cords and batteries obsolete, but some people alter coils for destructive purposes. Kyoma lives among ruins and loves vintage gas-powered cars, giving him reason to understand the damage coils can cause. He accepts recovery jobs from Marie in exchange for money and gasoline. During a mission to retrieve illegal coils from criminal brothers Jony and Every Won, Kyoma encounters a mysterious, cloaked captive who appears to be a young woman.
