Hiromasa Nonaga is a rising soccer coach whose teams have climbed from obscurity to the top, despite the fact that he has only just entered high school. Recruited by his current school to coach its team, he relies on sharp observation and an ability to predict opponents’ moves—skills that can make his presence alone enough to win games. His arrival draws top players to the school, including Sakamichi Kappo, whose powerful kicks can score from midfield and whose ball control is exceptional. Kappo initially refuses to join a team, believing nobody understands his style of soccer. When Hiromasa proves that he does, Kappo agrees to play. Together, the young coach and talented player aim to take on the high school soccer world.
