Guns and Stamps

In a world with technology resembling the 20th century, a great war pits the Grand Duchy and Empire against the Republic. Lieutenant Martina M. Mayakovskaya is a new officer in the Grand Duchy Logistics Corps, the military branch responsible for transport and supplies. Other soldiers dismiss the corps as “paper soldiers,” and Martina expects a comfortable desk job stamping forms. Instead, wherever she goes, she finds herself in the middle of combat. She also has an eight-legged pseudoweasel as a pet—or perhaps it has adopted her—and it seems to save her from danger each time.
