Jeff has been hailed as tennis’s future star since he was young, but a traumatic experience in his youth leaves him unable to win. Though he has mastered the game’s techniques—including serving, smashing, volleying, and footwork—victory keeps slipping away whenever it matters most. Tennis is meant to be enjoyed, not judged by its results. Jeff must confront his habit of losing at crucial moments if he is ever to overcome it and achieve a win.
