Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kai - Meakashi

In summer 1983, the quiet village of Hinamizawa is troubled by strange deaths and disappearances that seem to occur every year. Some blame the curse of the village’s deity, Oyashiro-sama, and say its victims are taken by monsters, while the truth may lie in secrets more sinister than legend. Meakashi-hen retells the events of Watanagashi-hen from Shion Sonozaki’s perspective, with only a few minor differences. It reveals the reason behind the killer’s actions: a lost love, and offers the first hints of what connects the story’s arcs.
