Fumiki Shimazaki dreams of becoming a poet, but his devotion to writing leaves little time for his studies and earns disapproval from his professors and his best friend, Mika. Seeking refuge from this difficult reality, he goes to an abandoned factory, where a mysterious dog saves him from a monstrous feline. Fumiki and the dog quickly become friends, but the animal raises many questions: Where do its paranormal abilities and intense thirst for knowledge come from, and how can it speak? The number 23 marked on its ear is another mystery. After the dog appears, an increasing number of extraordinary events unfold, all connected to that number.
