In the distant future, robots are worshiped on Earth as gods, and apprentice priestess Shion travels to a remote village to bury one of them. After she arrives, a villager asks Shion to investigate the mystery surrounding the deceased robot. Her work brings humans and robots together in a science-fiction elegy.
