Koe no Katachi

A grade-school class welcomes a girl with impaired hearing, but the situation is not as happy as it first appears. This one-shot wins the 80th Weekly Shounen Magazine Newbie Best Mangaka Award. Its content makes publication difficult, and after months of legal dispute it is accepted for the February edition of Bessatsu Shounen Magazine, where it takes first place. The story is later publicized again in the 12th issue of Weekly Shounen Magazine in 2013 and serialized in that magazine’s 36th–37th double issue that year.
