Loveless

Sixth-grader Ritsuka Aoyagi struggles with lost memories, family abuse, and the recent murder of his older brother, Seimei. Two years earlier, Ritsuka mysteriously lost his memory and developed a different personality. His mother berates him, asking what happened to the son she remembers, while Seimei had been his only defender and friend. After Seimei’s apparent friend Soubi arrives, he tells Ritsuka that his true name is Loveless and that Seimei assigned him to protect and care for Ritsuka. Ritsuka is drawn into an underground society where pairs—a Fighter Unit and a Sacrifice—battle with elaborate spells. As he seeks acceptance and a better understanding of himself, he also searches for who killed Seimei and why.
