Mononofu

Takara Shinobu is an awkward student who keeps failing, no matter how hard he works at school or tries to connect with others. After being sent to a backup high school far from home, a misunderstanding leads him to live in a share-house where residents train to become professional shogi players. Through shogi, Shinobu finds people who understand and accept him, and he begins to feel connected for the first time. But as he gets to know their world, he decides he wants to become a professional player too.
