Shaman King

Shamans connect the living world with the spirit world, partnering with ghosts and spirits to pursue their goals. Their greatest ambition is to become the Shaman King, a figure able to reach the Great Spirit—the destination to which every soul eventually returns—and become the world's savior. The story brings together a range of magical and religious ideas, which come together into an explanation as the main plot unfolds.
