Red leaves the Hero’s party after a Sage accuses him of not being a true companion and takes his equipment, leaving him with only a copper sword. Once a scout, planner, and mediator for the group, Red has the Divine Protection of the Guide, which gives him a high starting level but no magic, combat skills, or other special abilities. As the party battles the Demon Lord, he finds himself unable to keep up. Though he knows the world’s fate is at stake, Red withdraws from the fight and settles in the frontier town of Zoltan, hoping to earn enough to open an herbalist shop. He seeks a quiet life using the knowledge gained on his journey, alongside a half-elf carpenter and a princess who could not become the Hero’s companion. In this world, each person’s Divine Protection shapes their role.
