Shounen Onmyouji

Set in the Heian era, the story follows Abe no Masahiro, grandson of the renowned onmyōji Abe no Seimei. Though Seimei passes his teachings on to him, Masahiro loses his sixth sense and can no longer see spirits, leaving him frustrated at living in his grandfather’s shadow. One day, Masahiro meets a fox-like creature he names Mokkun, who reveals his potential after they fight a demon. Mokkun is actually Guren, one of Seimei’s twelve shikigami, who pledges loyalty to Masahiro and helps him strive to surpass his grandfather. To prove himself as Seimei’s successor, Masahiro must persuade the other shikigami, grow stronger against demons and rival onmyōji threatening Japan, and keep his promise to protect Princess Akiko of the Fujiwara clan.
