Sukedachi Nine

As Japan’s population ages and shrinks while murder rates soar, the government turns to harsher measures against violent criminals. When even the death penalty fails to deter them, Japan revives a law from the 19th century: the Revenge law. Under this law, victims and their relatives can hire a government special forces agency to capture a murderer and subject them to the same method by which their victim died. Yamagishi Yuji is the seventh member of the Sukedachi-nin, the force tasked with enforcing the law. Each member was chosen because they have also been a victim of crime.
