Teiichi no Kuni

Akaba Teiichi enters an elite private boys’ high school where political connections begin forming from the first day. Determined to become student council president and use the position as a step toward a political career, he maintains a flawless public image while understanding the darker side of power. His father, whose own lost bid for the presidency has held back his bureaucratic career, is ready to help, as are Teiichi’s loyal friend and strategist Koumei, his family, and his girlfriend Mimiko. Teiichi’s ambitions face opposition from Kurosaka Reiko, an idealistic new teacher seeking to challenge the school’s corrupt political traditions. She backs Otaka Dan, a popular and brilliant student from a poor background who did not attend the school’s elite feeder middle school. As Reiko works to disrupt the status quo, Teiichi must try to reach his goal through the system she wants to change.
