Tenshou no Ryoma

Near the end of the Edo Period, samurai and visionary Sakamoto Ryoma leads a revolutionary movement to overthrow the Tokugawa Shogunate. Inspired by the Western principle that all people are created equal, he imagines a modern Japanese government free from oppressive feudalism. In 1867, Ryoma and his close friend Nakaoka Shintaro are assassinated before he can realize that vision. This historical alternate-universe story follows what happens when Shintaro’s sacrifice saves Ryoma, giving him another chance to build a new, modern Japan.
