Traveling Girl

Maki is a promising newcomer who plans to play basketball at Shirotou High School, known for its girls’ and boys’ teams. The day before school begins, she visits a sports shop to look for basketball shoes and catches the eye of a worker there. He recommends a pair and says he plays on Shirotou’s boys’ team. But when Maki tells him she’ll be on the girls’ team, his smile disappears. He warns her not to act as though they know each other if they meet at school, leaving Maki wondering what is going on.
