Fuguno Masuo is a hapless 24-year-old businessman who has never had a girlfriend and feels unlucky in love. After consulting a fortune teller, he believes romance may never work out for him. His outlook changes when he meets Nagisa Shiozaki at a marriage interview pub. She has also had little luck with men, and Masuo is determined to win her over. To do so, he must contend with other suitors and the attention of a coworker, while trying to avoid the awkward situations that tend to end badly for him.
