5 Centimeters per Second

Tono Takaki and Shinohara Akari are close friends whose lives gradually carry them apart. Separated because of their families, they keep in touch through letters, but as time passes, their contact begins to fade. Years go by, and the distance between them grows. Takaki still remembers the time they shared, while life continues to unfold around him. He wonders whether he will ever have the chance to see Akari again, as he comes to understand more about the world and the people in it.
