Privacy policy

This policy explains what Comicu collects when you read, sign up and take part, why, and the choices you have. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address, username and display name, and — if you add them — a profile picture and a short bio. Your password is never stored, only a one-way hash of it. If you sign in with Google, we also keep your Google account’s ID and email address.

  • What you do on the site: the chapters you read, the comics you follow, your readlists, likes and reactions, and the comments, reviews and reports you write.

  • Technical information: your IP address and browser details, used to keep the site secure, stop abuse and keep you signed in on your devices.

Cookies and storage on your device

  • A sign-in cookie, only while you are signed in.

  • Settings cookies, only when you choose a content level or hidden genres without an account.

  • Your reading preferences and a random device code for the share buttons, kept in your browser’s storage.

How we use it

To run the site and your account: to show your history and follows, send the emails you ask for (confirming your address, resetting your password, security notices), tell you about new chapters, keep comments civil and protect the site from abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

Who else processes it

The companies that host and protect the site — our hosting and storage providers, Cloudflare, which carries every page to you, and the service that delivers our emails — and Google, if you choose to sign in with it. [Add your payment provider here if you sell a premium plan.]

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. When you delete it, your profile, history, follows, readlists, comments, reviews and likes are removed; we keep only your email address and username, so no one else can sign up as you.

Your choices

  • Change your profile, password, content level and hidden genres in Settings.

  • Connect or disconnect Google in Settings → Account.

  • Delete your account at any time in Settings → Account.

Children

Comicu is not meant for children under 13. Some comics are rated for older readers and stay hidden unless a reader chooses to see them.
