Aiyoku no Eustia

Novus Aether is a city kept aloft by the Saint’s prayers, but a past disaster left its lowest district in ruin. Years ago, when the Saint’s prayer was interrupted, the Gran Forte caused part of the city to fall, splitting the lower city and costing countless lives. The district known as the Prison is now marked by crime, famine, and disease, with the organization called the Noncorroding Gold Chains maintaining what little order remains through its control of the sex trade. A contagious illness that makes people grow wings is spreading, and the Wing Hunters pursue those afflicted, often violently. Caim Astraea, a freelance former assassin who takes odd jobs for the head of the Gold Chains, encounters Eustia, a winged girl who gives off the pale purple light associated with the Gran Forte. Their meeting draws Caim into the affairs of the Church and the royal government as he searches for meaning in his difficult life and uncovers the city’s hidden secrets.
