Akagi

Thirteen-year-old Akagi escapes a deadly chicken fight and enters a mahjong parlor, where a man is losing everything to the yakuza. Though he has never played mahjong, Akagi says the man is playing incorrectly and takes his place at the game. When police arrive looking for the boy who fled the chicken fight, the people at the parlor deny that Akagi has any connection to it. A policeman later invites Akagi to a more organized mahjong game, setting him on a path where his reputation as a legendary player continues to grow.
