Kodo Ikusei Senior High School offers advanced facilities and sends nearly all its students on to college or into employment. Students can choose their hairstyles and bring whatever belongings they like, but the school treats only its most capable students well. Kiyotaka Ayanokoji lands in Class D, where the school places students it considers inferior. He was careless on the entrance exam for a particular reason, and that result puts him among them. After meeting his classmates Suzune Horikita and Kikyo Kushida, Kiyotaka’s situation begins to change.
