Code Geass - Suzaku of the Counterattack

Suzaku Kururugi’s story unfolds alongside the rebellion against Britannia, the empire that has conquered Japan and renamed it Area 11. Years earlier, Lelouch, a Britannian living in Japan, promised his Japanese friend Suzaku that he would destroy the empire. Now a high school student, Lelouch spends his time skipping class to play chess and gamble. When he encounters resistance fighters who have stolen a military secret—a young girl—he gains the power to compel anyone to obey his orders and takes charge of the group. Suzaku, meanwhile, is shot for disobeying his unit’s orders, then secretly becomes the pilot of Britannia’s new Knightmare Frame, Lancelot. As Lelouch assumes the masked identity of Zero to lead the rebellion, this series follows Suzaku’s side of the story.
