Donten Prism Solar Car

At ten years old, Shota Kaneda loses his father in a car accident, an event that leaves him struggling with painful memories and financial hardship. Now unable to afford college, he works both a part-time job and full-time at his uncle’s factory, saving toward his dream of continuing his education. He lives alone above one of his uncle’s warehouses, has no friends, and rides everywhere by bicycle with headphones to shut out the sounds of traffic. When economic pressure cuts his factory hours and pay in half, Shota’s uncle also lends the warehouse’s first floor to a college club building a solar car for a race. The club hopes to enlist Shota’s mechanical skills, but his anger and isolation make him difficult to approach. Club member Junko Yazaki and the others must find a way to work with him and draw him out.
