Fragrant Magician

Emperor Carlos Afforny is cursed to smell a foul stench from everything and everyone, and it grows worse over time. Desperate to end it, he summons Ersala, an apprentice to the Grand Witch, to the imperial palace. Ersala’s lack of experience keeps her from fully lifting the curse. The stench disappears for Carlos only when she is nearby, and because she can use magic just once a year, she remains bound to his side until she can try again.
