Girl Friends

Mari Kumakura is a shy, top-performing student who has few friends and usually eats lunch alone. Her routine changes when Akko Oohashi, a cute and popular classmate, approaches her and says she wants to be friends. Mari initially doubts Akko’s intentions, but gradually comes to see her as a good person. With Akko’s help, Mari gets a haircut and fashion advice, and soon becomes one of the cutest girls at school. The two become best friends, while Mari begins to feel something for Akko beyond friendship. The comic also includes other similar short stories.
