Takeshi Oomura has endured a lifetime of bad luck, which he learns was brought on by a curse his father wished upon him. During one of his usual unlucky days, he meets Elle, an angel who reveals the truth and offers him a chance to pass the curse on. Takeshi chooses to keep the curse rather than let a young girl suffer it. In return for his noble act, Elle becomes human and moves in with him to protect him from the curse—a living arrangement Takeshi does not particularly welcome.
