Hito Hitori Futari

After death, souls continue their journey through the spirit world, where they study to improve themselves before moving toward the world of light. Some are reincarnated, while others return as guardian spirits, protecting the souls of the living from darkness rising below. Riyon is a carefree spirit who often skips her lessons, so she is sent back to serve as a guardian. Rather than watch over someone from birth, she is assigned to Japanese Prime Minister Kasuga Soichiro, who has only a year and a half left to live. After a close brush with death gives Kasuga unusual abilities—including the power to see Riyon—the two must work together to protect his battered soul.
