A dangerous defect in the virtual reality game Visions turns long sessions into deadly incidents, prompting an effort to force every player to log out. But some refuse and barricade themselves inside the game. Shin Hato, a member of the Regional Welfare Department’s Hikikomori Support Office, enters Visions to reach the holdouts and bring them back to the real world. As he sets out to communicate with the entrenched players, the situation remains uncertain.
