In a world where magic is natural, orphan Akuto Sai enters Constantin Magic High School hoping to live modestly, only to learn that his predicted future occupation is the Devil King. Akuto’s story begins when a witch leaves him as a newborn at a church. Raised in its orphanage, he earns admiration and bewilderment for preaching love and equality. Before leaving to live with an adoptive family, he comforts a lonely girl with a jeweled hair ornament and promises they will meet again if she takes good care of it. Five years later, Akuto passes the entrance test for the magic school. On the way there, he makes a new friend, then undergoes the school’s vocational aptitude test, which reveals the future awaiting him.
