Ilya

Fabian, a young man from Gabii, seeks a Senmuru witch who can bring his wooden golem to life. The two groups detest each other, though the reason for their hostility is unknown, and witches are the only ones able to animate inanimate things. After people from his town beat him and nearly kill him, Fabian returns to his creation to finish it. Senmuru guards attack, but a witch intervenes and animates the golem, frightening them away. Its huge, uneven body soon collapses, and Fabian demands that the witch animate it again, saying it is her job. Angered, she traps him in vines; then a tree behind her comes alive and attacks her.
