On February 23, 20XX, an earthquake measuring 8.1 strikes Tokyo just as former junior high classmates Jin Mishima and Nanako Okano meet again. Jin, a college senior attending a job recruitment orientation at a television station in Odaiba, and Nanako, a Gothic Lolita on her way to a concert, are caught in the disaster as the island and city are reduced to ruins. As they struggle to survive, people from across Tokyo’s youth subcultures and social groups face the same catastrophe. Their differences and outward identities give way to a shared effort to endure, offering a hopeful view of people coming together in the aftermath of disaster.
