War turns men into beasts and beasts into gods. But when the fighting ends, the Incarnates—soldiers transformed into powerful creatures—are left to wonder where they can go and whether they can find rest. In a land marked by despair, lament, and bitterness, those who once fought side by side now face one another as enemies. The story follows the grim task of hunting down former comrades who have become dangerous in the aftermath of war.
