Kimi no Neiro

Akira Tsubakiya has always been mistaken for a boy because she is tall, flat-chested, and not especially feminine. In middle school, she promises Haru, a boy from her cram school, that they will both try to enter the same prestigious high school. When Haru says he likes girls with long hair, Akira grows hers out as she falls for him. As middle school ends, Akira prepares to confess, only to learn that Haru has a cute, long-haired girlfriend. Heartbroken, she cuts off her hair and gives up on acting girly. In high school, she wears the boys’ uniform jacket with a skirt and becomes known as “Prince Akira,” admired by the girls around her. After a long time without seeing Haru, she runs into his supposed girlfriend—and discovers that the person is actually a boy.
