Konbini S

This collection contains three stories about love, friendship, and unexpected connections. In “Konbini S,” four young people bored with their everyday lives meet an elderly woman at a convenience store. She offers to pay each of them 20,000 yen to work at her house, leaving them to wonder whether such a generous deal can be real. In “Happy? Happy!,” Tomo falls in love with Nagase at first sight during the freshman ceremony, but Nagase already has a girlfriend at another school. “The Happy Province” follows a reporter who encounters a mixed-race baby sold by a writer decades earlier. Unable to leave the child alone, he considers taking her to a province said to be filled with happiness.
