Koukoku no Shugosha

A young officer and his battalion face a vastly larger invading force in an alternate-history war. First Lieutenant Naoe Shinjo serves in Koukoku’s army when Teikoku’s Eastern Division suddenly invades and overwhelms the country’s Northern Defense Forces. Shinjo and his 600 soldiers receive orders to fight in the rear and delay Teikoku’s army of 40,000 men. As the invasion advances, Shinjo is drawn into a long, desperate struggle. The manga adapts Daisuke Satou’s alternate-history war novels, with art by Yu Ito.
