Lady Mitsuko

Mitsuko is a Japanese woman born with a star-shaped mark on her palm, a sign said to promise a life of great heights. Yet she comes from a family of modest status, in a society where social barriers make it difficult to rise above one’s station. As she grows into a beautiful young woman, Mitsuko meets a handsome foreigner, and the possibility of a Cinderella-like future emerges. But her story asks whether real life can ever be as idyllic as a fairy tale’s ending.
