Living as the Villain’s Stepmother

After an oven explosion leaves her facing death at the hands of her abusive father, a woman wakes inside a novel she was reading. She has become Leila, the stepmother who mistreated the young Hirua and is destined to be executed when he returns as emperor. Determined to help Hirua escape the life that leads him to become a villain, Leila approaches Marquis Lacias Huppert, a man who played an important role in the original story, and proposes a contract marriage. She expects the arrangement to last a year, after which she and Hirua will be on their own. But Lacias asks whether they can make the marriage real, while Hirua wants to sleep beside his mother, and both begin growing unexpectedly attached to Leila.
