Meiji Hiiro Kitan

During the Meiji era, young Suzu is sold to the red-light district. Tsugaru, the wealthy heir to a dry goods store, buys her freedom for reasons she cannot understand, offering only the explanation that they share a bond. Grateful to him, Suzu stays by Tsugaru’s side as she tries to unravel what that bond means to him. Over time, she grows from a little girl into a young woman in this gentle, slow-paced love story.
