My Wish Is Two Separate Beds

Julia, Queen of Semele, has been married to Endimion since childhood, but their marriage began as a matter of convenience. The two are the same age and have shared a bed for twelve years, growing up together like siblings. Their familiar arrangement shifts when Julia suggests Endimion should stop sharing her bed, so that a future concubine who bears his child will not be disappointed. Endimion questions her mention of a concubine and climbs over her, declaring that he will make a child with her instead. After this unsettling incident, Julia finds it deeply uncomfortable to sleep beside her husband and wishes they could have separate beds.
