Neon Genesis Evangelion

Yoshiyuki Sadamoto’s manga presents a distinct version of the story from the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime. Serialized from 1995, it draws on the original story outline and the completed anime while also reflecting Sadamoto’s artistic choices, resulting in points of both convergence and divergence. The manga differs from the anime in several ways: Shinji has brown rather than blue eyes, his relationship with Rei is more developed, and some Angels from the anime do not appear. Sadamoto writes and illustrates the series, which is published by Kadokawa Shoten.
