Yato is a minor god who dreams of having many devoted followers, but he has no shrine of his own and few people seek his help. His situation worsens when the partner who helped him solve people’s problems quits. Things begin to change when Yato saves Iki Hiyori’s life, leaving her in a predicament that ties her to him until it is resolved. With Hiyori and his new partner, the weapon Yukine, Yato sets out to gain fame and recognition—and perhaps a shrine of his own.
