Osora, a prince of the Calaveras Kingdom, faces a future his family has planned since birth, beginning with his father presenting him to the kingdom as male. But the Sergos, a magic-wielding race, intend to use Osora as collateral in their war against humans. Caught between the identity others impose on him and the role they demand, Osora is also in a love triangle with his promised fiancée and his childhood best friend. He must find a way to shape his own story amid conflict over sexuality and gender identity, as well as homophobia, transphobia, and other forms of prejudice.
