Survive as the Adopted Daughter of a Genius Duke

Reina must win the favor of Kilian, the young male lead of a novel, to survive as an adopted daughter in a duke’s household. In her past life, she was a graduate student who praised her professor; now she uses those same skills to flatter her younger brother, run errands for him, and bring him snacks. The novel’s events are still far off, and Kilian is destined to eliminate her someday. Reina’s efforts work too well: the once-chubby child proposes marriage, insisting she is a woman to him rather than his sister. As time passes and Kilian grows up, Reina remains focused on escaping, while he becomes increasingly devoted to her. Their romance unfolds as a game of cat and mouse between her attempts to get away and his insistence on keeping her close.
