A man awakens in another world as a sword, stranded on a raised stretch of an extraordinary plain surrounded by monstrous creatures. The world follows game-like rules, with attributes such as health, magic, strength, vitality, agility, intelligence, and dexterity, as well as titles and equipment. Guided by his instincts as a living sword, he sets out to find someone who can wield him. He encounters a young feline girl just as she is about to be attacked by a bear-like monster.
