The Ability Avenger: ALIUS

Takagi Sōma is an ALIUS, a new kind of human with DNA unlike ordinary Homo sapiens and the power to control other people. His father forbids him to use this ability, and Sōma grows up living happily with his parents—until his father is accused of embezzling one billion yen. His father dies by suicide in detention, and Sōma’s mother takes her own life after hearing the news, leaving him alone while he is still in high school. In despair, Sōma discovers a notebook his father left behind, containing the names of influential local figures and records of illicit funds. Believing his father was framed, he encounters a conglomerate heir who has the same name as he does and lies in a vegetative state. Sōma decides that taking the heir’s identity could bring him close to those responsible. To uncover the truth, he breaks his father’s rule and sets out on a path of calculated possession and revenge.
