The Broken Ring: This Marriage Will Fail Anyway

Inés chooses the handsome heir to House Escalante as her fiancé when she is six, but she has no intention of making their marriage work. Believing noble men are all alike, she simply wants a pretty one—and gives Lord Cárcel permission to pursue other women as long as he leaves her alone. Cárcel spends the next fifteen years avoiding the commitment, only to find that his fiancée’s indifference makes his playboy lifestyle less appealing. He also wonders whether her permission means she is free to be unfaithful herself. Determined to change Inés’s opinion of him, Cárcel sets out to prove he can become the husband she has always wanted.
